Medical Grade PAEK Standard Updates from ASTM
At the May 2016 ASTM meeting in San Antonio, TX, the task force announced the publication of the updated trace levels of heavy metals in medical grade PEEK in ASTM F2026 -16 (Standard Specification for Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) Polymers for Surgical Implant Applications).
The task force discussed and approved a new work item to characterize consolidation defects and extranous matter, which will be discussed at future meetings.
